The Sosnovy Bor Town's coat of arms is the official symbol of the Municipal Union “Gorod Sosnovy Bor” ("The Town of Sosnovy Bor") that was approved with the decision of the Town Assembly of the town of Sosnovy Bor of 16 December 1996, No. 9. The heraldic description of the coat of arms: “In the azure and green field that is divided into four parts there is a silver crossbelt that is separated longitudinally with a narrow azure stripe. The upper part of the crossbelt is bricked with black colour and wall-merlon according the shield. The lower part of the crossbelt is waved. The crossbelt is accompanied with two silver fish that placed vertically in each azure quarter of the shield. In the first green quarter there is a golden transparent diamond octopetalous flower. The even leaves of the octopetalous flower are less than odd leaves. In the center of the octopetalous flower there is a golden bezant. Above the octopetalous flower there is a golden crown with three long visible teeth and two short teeth. In the second green quarter there is a golden castle with a green arch and two towers with steeple roofs and the same roof with the spire between towers. Below the castle there is a inverted rafter that is joined with two shingles at the ends.” The silver wall is the symbol of the town’s location in the Izhora land. The wave silver stripe and silver fishes point to the town’s location on the seacoast. The golden composition that consists of the symbol of an atomic nucleus under the crown in the third quarter of the shield symbolizes the Leningrad Nuclear Power Plant. The town is obliged its existence to this plant. The golden castle in the fourth quarter points to the fact that Sosnovy Bor has a status of a town since it was founded. The coat of arms was registered in the State Heraldic Register of the Russian Federation under the No. 147.
