The Vokhono Convent of St. Mary-Magdalene (the village of Vokhonovo, the Gatchina district). In January 1883 the landowner A.P. Platonov and his daughter Natalya Aleksandrovna presented 6.5 desyatinas (about 18 acres) of forests to the Novo-Dyevitchi Convent of the Resurrection for the construction of a scete. The scete was established in 1884, the church of St. Mary-Magdalene the Equal-to-the-Apostles was established on 3 June 1884. The wooden church, crowned with one dome with a beel tower with the high pyramidal roof, was built in the Russian Style (architect S.V. Sadovnikov) and consecrated on 16 September 1884. Also an iconpainting workship, gold-embroidery workship, shoe workship, dairy-farm, garden, kitchen-garden, apiary, asylum and school for orphans were created. In early 1889 the scete was transformed into a supemumerary cenobitic monastery, about 70 nuns lived in it in 1892. In 1899 after the separation of the Pyatigorsk Convent of the Mother of God from the Vokhono Convent of St. Mary-Magdalene 40 nuns lived there (in 1917 there were 46 nuns). The Vokhono Convent did missionary work among Estonians-Lutherans, received pilgrims. The convent was closed in 1930, its buildings were occupied by the sovkhoz ""Delegatka"". Seventeen last nuns were arrested and sentenced to exile in February 1932. The church was closed on 10 May 1932 and a dormitory was placed there. In 1933 seven bells were melted. The church building was destroyed in 1941.
