The Church of St. Demetrius of Thessalonica, the Great Martyr (Staraya Ladoga Village). The original wooden church in the Staraya Ladoga Fortress territory was firstly mentioned in 1646. In 1731 the church was demolished, renovated and assembled on the same place. It was demolished the second time in 1901 under the supervision of the Imperial Archeological Commission, reassembled and restored on the stone foundation. The oldest three-part klet type of the church has been survived. The higher central klet under the double-pitch roof was crowned with a small onion-shaped dome cut into the ridge. Not high pentahedral volume of an apse is sided with the church from the East, a refectory with an entrance hall under the single roof is sided from the West. The construction was decorated with a porch on two carved columns and the carving of a prichelina (carved bargeboard). The church was closed in the early 1920s. In 1971 the church it was transferred to the Staraya Ladoga historical, architectural and archaeological museum reserved for placing an ethnographical exposition. In 2006 the restoration was begun. The exposition "Festivals of the Orthodox Christianity" is planned to open in the church.
