The Church of the Holy Trinity (Stariye Medushi Village, Lomonosov District)

The Church of the Holy Trinity (Stariye Medushi Village, the Lomonosov District). A stone one-domed Classicism style church was built and consecrated in 1788, side-altars were devoted to St. Nicholas and St. Roman, Great Martyr and St. David, Great Martyrs. The church was built using the money of Count R.I. Vorontsov and his illegitimate son A.R. Rantsov (later the Rantsovs were buried in the church). In 1866 a bell tower was built up to the design of the architect N.D. Fedyushkin. In 1869 the parish trusteeship was opened. In 1899 the parish included: Myedushi Village, Nikolskaya Village, Gorka Village, Razvalovo Village, Staraya Burya Village, Novaya Burya Village, Zaostrovye Village, Mukhovitsi Village, Modolitsi Village, Dobryanitsi Village, Slepino Village, Savolshchina 1 Village, Savolshchina 2 Village, Radushevo Village, N. Medushi Village, Nikkorovo Village, Lopukhinki Village, Dolgoviye Nivi Village, Verkhniye Ruditsi Village, Starodvorye Village, ust-Ruditsi Village (548 peasant homesteads in all). The church was rebuilt in 1907 (to the design of the architect N.A. Dolbinsky). In the late 1930s the church was closed. The church building was suffered from bombardments during World War II. Now the church is in ruins, the upper part of the bell tower was destroyed. The foundation of of the estate house of the landownres Rantsovs is survived nearby.
