RYABOVO, an urban settlement in Tosno District. Population: 3.300. It is situated at the railway station of the same name of the St. Petersburg-Moscow branch, parallel to which, the Moscow Highway extends. It has been developing since the late 1940s, when the development of the Pelgora peat deposit started. In 1965, it was granted the status of a workers’ (urban) settlement, it incorporates the settlement near Ryabovo Station, Ryabovo village, Sokolov Ruchey, Myslinka factory settlement, and Pelgortorf settlement (Pelgorskoye, currently a neighborhood within R.) R. has two culture centers and two libraries. In 2003, the chapel of the Protection of the Virgin was opened in Pelgorskoye.
