The Museum of Volkhov Town history (Volkhov Town, 27 October Embankment) was founded in October of 1969 in G.O. Graftio's two-storeyed mansion which was built during 1924-1926. The exposition main part devoted to building the Volkhov hydroelectric power station, life and work of Graftio. There are more then 10 thousand items in the museum funds. Materials concerning the history of building the railway Station Zvanka and the Vokhov Aluminium Plant, the development of Volkhov Town during the last ten years are presented on the exposition. The art collection of the Volkhov artist A. Gailis is kept in the museum. Emblems of Volkhov's twin-towns Jarvenpia (Finland), Sundsvall (Sweden), Mospean (Norway) are presented in the International Hall of the museum. The museum is visited by about 9 thousand visitors.
