"Mon Repos Park", a state museum-reserve

"Mon Repos Park", a state historical and architectural and natural museum-reserve (Vyborg Town, the settlement Severny). It was founded according to the academician D.S. Likhachev's initiative in 1968. The museum-reserve is located on the territory of the estate Mon Repos of Barons Nikolai on the coast of the Zashchitny Bay of the Vyborg Gulf in the north-west part of Tverdysh Island. The museum-reserve includes the main estate house built according to the project of G.A. Martinelli in the 1800s and the library outhouse; a rocky landscape park (35 hectares); a forest park with granite ridges (selga) of the glacial epoch (130 hectares, the nature monument of the Leningrad Oblast); the area of the gulf (132 hectares). The wooden estate mansion is being restored. A part of the mansion is used as exhibition and concert halls from May till October. The main gate, the column of Paul I, the obelisk to brothers August and Karl Broglio (de Blolyi) on Leventiysky Rock, the spring "Narsis" are survived in the park ensemble. The chapel of Ludvigsburg on the necropolis island Ludvigshtain, the pavilion "The Temple of Neptune", the Chinese bridges in the area of Column Island, the Tea pavilion are restored. There are about 5 thousand items in the museum funds. From 1991 festivals of chamber classic music "Evenings in Mon Repos" are held every year, from 1998 festivals of youth music "The Door into Summer" are held. The museum - reserve is visited by 80 thousand visitors every year. In 1995 the "Mon Repos Park" was included in the List of the specially valuable objects of the Russian Federation culture heritage.
