"Trudovaya slava" ("Labour Fame"), a newspaper

"Trudovaya slava" ("Labour Glory") (6a Novo-Sovetskaya Street, Tikhvin Town), a social and political newspaper of the Tikhvin District. It was founded on August 21, 1930 as as the organ of the District Committee of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union (Bolsheviks) and the District Soviet and was called "Kollektivizator" ("The Collectivizer"). From 1935 till 1960 the newspaper was called "Sotsialisticheskaya stroyka" ("The Socialistic Building"), during 1960-1962 it was called "Leninskaya iskra" ("Lenin's Spark"), from 1962 it has its contemporary name. In 1931 the newspaper travelling editorial board worked. In 1991 the newspaper was re-registered as the organ of the local administration and working collective. On the present days the newspaper founders are the Leningrad Oblast Committee for Information Policy and Telecommunication, the Administration of the Tikhvin District and the editorial board. The newspaper is issued a times week, its circulation is 5 thousand copies. The newspaper coverages the economic, social and political and cultural life of the district. There is the newspaper supplement "Mestnaya vlast" ("The Local Power") where the official documents of municipal unions are published. There are topic supplements devoted to separate events (for instant: for the festival "Tikhvin's Lel"). Periodically the page "History" devoted to the past of the krai is ussued. More then 30 years the Tikhvin athletics competition on the newspaper prizes is held.
