SOSNOVIY BOR MUSICAL AND CHORAL SCHOOL “BALTIKA” (“BALTIC”) (18, Solnechnaya st., Sosnoviy Bor Village). It was founded in 1992, sponsor is Municipal Institution “Sosnovoborskiy Gorogskoy Okrug” (“Sosnoviy Bor Municipal District”). The main specialization is solo and choir singing (school has three boys’ and four girls’ choirs). They teach to play the violin, cello, button accordion, accordion, guitar, domra, flute, oboe, trumpet, saxophone, clarinet, trombone, piano. The school has a preparation department. The school houses symphonic orchestra; Russian folk orchestra; violin, guitar and other ensembles. These groups many times successfully performed in St.Petersburg, toured Russia and foreign countries. The school choirs and soloists became prize-winners of regional, oblast and international contests. Boys’ choir (chief musician is T. Stavinova) acquired a status of collective member of Petrovskaya Academy of Science and Arts in 2006.
