Gesellius, Hermann Ernst Henrik (1874-1916), an architect. In 1897 Gesellius graduated from the Politechnic Institute in Helsinki. During 1896-1904 Gesellius worked at the bureau "Gesellius - Linfgren - Saarinen", after closing the bureau in 1904-1907 he continued to work with E. Saarinen. Gesellius participated in designing the pavilion of Finland at the World's Fair in Paris (1900), several buildings in Helsinki (including the building of the National Museum; 1901-1910), the villa of Suur-Meriyoki near Vyborg Town (1902-1903), the Railway Stattion in Vyborg Town (1913, the building was built jointly with E. Saarinen; it was blown up in August 1941 during the Soviet troops retreat.
