The Kingisepp Town's coat of arms is the official approved heraldic emblem of the Municipal Union “Kingisepskoye gorodskoe poselenie” (the urban-type settlement of Kingisepp) (it was approved with the decision of the Soviet of Deputies of the Municipal Union of 17 March 2006, No.56). The heraldic description of the coat of arms: “Within the green field in the top sinister there is the gold sun shining onto the crossing and in the base of the shield there is the black eagle with spread wings and with the gold eyes, beak and foots . The eagle turned to right side is sitting on a gold rock.” The eagle is the symbol of fearlessness, wisdom, victory and greatness. The sun is the symbol of the vital energy, beauty, immortality, harmony. The gold colour is the symbol of stability, respect and intellect. The green colour symbolizes growth, health, revival. And the black colour symbolizes modesty, wisdom and the eternity of existences. The coat of arms is based on the coat of arms of Yamburg Town (it was founded in the Saint-Petersburg Province in 1780). It underlines historical and culture continuity of many generations of the people who have lived in the lands. The coat of arms was registered in the State Heraldic Register of the Russian Federation under No.2214.
