The Volosovo Town's coat of arms and flag are the official approved symbols of the Municipal Union “Volosovskoe gorodskoe poselenue” (the urban-type settlement of Volosovo) (they were approved with the decision of the Soviet of Deputies of the Municipal Union of 28 June 2006, No.60). The heraldic description of the coat of arms: “Within the green field there is an old man dressed in long ancient Russian clothes. The old man seats on the gold throne decorated with ornament and holds a gusli on his knees. His right hand lies on the gusli and in he holds staff in the left hand. From behind the throne there is a bull going to the right and a bear going to the left. All figures are gold.” The old man symbolizes Veles (Volos) (the ancient Slavonic God of the fertility and the God of the cattle-breeding). The cult of Veles was related with the homage to bear as the master of animals. The bear is the symbol of far-sight. The bull is the symbol of fertility and prosperity. The gusli remembers about the legendary singer Boyan ( in “Slovo o polku Igoreve” (The Tale of Igor's Campaign) he was the grandson of Veles.) and symbolizes the culture intellectual wealth of the district. The flag is a rectangle sheet in the ratio of width to length 2:3. The flag renders the coat of arms composition in green and yellow colours. The coat of arms was registered in the State Heraldic Register of the Russian Federation under No.2471, and the flag was registered inder No.2472.
