Kingisepp District coat of arms and flag, the

The Kingisepp District's coat of arms and flag are the official symbols which were approved with the decision of the Representative Assembly of the Municipal Union of 20 February 2002, No. 95-s. The heraldic description of the coat of arm: “Within the green field there is a black rock that is covered with silver that looks like snow. There is a black volant eagle with golden eyes, beak and feet on the rock, who looks at the golden sun in the first quarter.” The coat of arms is age-old, it was established in 1712 for the colours of the Yamburg Regiment. In 1730 it was approved by Emperor as the coat of arms of the town of Yamburg. In 1780 it was re-approved by Empress Catherine II, at that the rock was made of silver. The flag is rectangle sheet in the ratio of width to length 2:3. It consist of two horizontal stripes. The upper stripe is white (the width is 2/3 from the height of the colour cloth), the second one is red. In the centre of the white stripe there are three dark blue wave horizontal stripes. The width of each stripe is 1/20 from the height of the colour cloth, the distance between stripes is 1/20 from the height of the colour cloth. Over waves stripes the Kingisepp District's coat of arms is placed. The height of the shield is 3/10 from the length of the colour cloth and the width is 9/40 from the length of the colour cloth.
