Slantsi District coat of arms, the

The Slantsi District's coat of arms is the official heraldic emblem of the Municipal Union “Slantsevskiy rayon” (The Slantsi District). The coat of arms was approved with the decision of the Representative Assembly of the Municipal Union of 29 September 2004, No. 263. The heraldic description of the coat of arms: “The shield is divided horizontally into two parts: the green field and the azure one. In the azure field there are two silver mountains with pointed tops. Mountains have sloping mountainside by the right side and the steep mountainside by the left side. A smaller mountain is behind and right than big mountain. Above the mountains there are three dark red flame tips which is framed with gold. In the green field there are two silver picks, their handles directed down and crosswise. Above the picks there is a silver hammer. The hammer's handle is directed upwards.” The silver mountains, picks and hammer are symbols of the mineral resource industry that is the base of the district's economy.
