THE KINGISEPP TOWN LIBRARY (Kingisepp Town, 30 Bolshaya Sovetskaya Street). It was founded in 1905 as zemstvo popular library, with active participation of count Georgy Nikolayevich Sivers and Pyotr Petrovich Zaltzer. In August 1941 the library burned down, and it was reopened for readers in 1944. In 1977 it got a status of central district library and it was put in charge of centralized library network of Kingisepp District (consisting of 20 filial brances, including 15 village libraries). In 2006 it was reorganized into town library. Its general-purpose fund contains 111,000 storage units, with around 8,000 members and over 44,500 visits annually.
