Krenke, Viktor Danilovich (1816-1893, the estate of Perekhodi, the moder Boksitogorsk district), a military figure, an enlightener, engineer lieutenant-general. Krenke finished the Paul's Military School in 1834 and was taken into the Engineer Corps. During the Crimean War being in Vyborg Krenke managed on the construction of defensive installations at the Baltic Sea from 1853 till 1856. From 1864 Krenke worked as the head of the St. Petersburg military district commissariat, from 1866 he was Commander of the 26th Infantry Division. In 1869 after retiring Krenke settled in the estate of Perekhodi of the Novgorod Gubernia Tikhvin uyezd Bolshegorsky volost (it was located on the territory of Kolbeki Village of the modern Boksitogorsk district; It was not survived). V.D. Krenke established the library with the drpartment of people's books, opened a Sunday school for peasants in Kolbeki Village, he composed "Azbuka dlya narodnikh shkol" ("The Alphabet for People's School"). During the Russian-Turkish War from 1877 till 1878 Krenke led the the engineer works and was a member of the defence of Shipka Pass, carried out works on the evacuation of Russian troops from the Balkan Mountains. In 1879 Krenke was demobilized and then he returned into the estate where he organized the model farm, compiled "Selskokhozyaystvennaya entsiklopedia" ("The Agricultural Encyclopaedia"). In 1885 Krenke established the Kolbeki Saving and Loan Association. He was an initiator of creating a monument to Peter I at the Tikhvin Canal of the Tikhvin Water System in 1864 and a monument "The Thousandth Anniversary of Russia" in Veliky Novgorod in 1862. In the 1880s Krenke met with I.P. Mordvinov and exerted great influence on forming his personality and choosing the work. Krenke died at the estate and was buried at the semetery of the Kolbeki pogost (the grave was not survived). A memorable sign was set in honour of V.D. Krenke in Kolbeki Village.
