GORKOVSKOYE, a settlement in Vyborg District. Population: 297. It appeared in 1948 as a result of integration of the villages of Neuvola (also Neivola) and Kirjavala. It was named after A. M. Gorbik-Lange in Neuvola in 1914-17; initially it was called Peshkovo, with the current name approved in October 1948. It was a popular recreation place in the mid-19th and early 20th c. Poet Demian Bedny, politician V. D. Bonch-Bruyevich (V. I. Lenin visited him in the summer of 1917), and writer F. N. Falkovsky (L. N. Andreyev died in his country house in 1919.) lived in Neivola in summer. The same name was given to the railway station on the Vyborg-St. Petersburg line near Yakovlevo village a few km away from G.
