Lyubov Ivanovna GUKOVA (1929, Kirishi Town – 1998, Vyborg Town), librarian. She graduated from library college in Leningrad (1950), and then got a degree of Leningrad State Library Institute named after N. K. Krupskaya (1954). Since 1952 she worked in Vyborg Town Joint Library named after N. K. Krupskaya (now Vyborg Central Town Library named after A. Aalto) as head of the mobile fund department. L. I. Gukova organized over 30 mobile libraries at Vyborg Town plants and factories and suburban districts. From 1966 to 1984 she had the post of the library director. In 1973 she was one of the first directors in the Leningrad Oblast to realize the programme for centralization of the town libraries. She also founded the Coordinating Council integrating the libraries of different town institutions in order to provide information services for professionals in industry of Vyborg Town. Her works were published in specialized editions. From 1973 to 1984 L. I. Gukova was elected as deputy of Vyborg Town Soviet of People’s Deputies for ten convocations . She was buried in Vyborg Town cemetery.
