Agnessa Aleksandrovna GURINA (1938 – 2005), librarian. In 1962 she graduated from Leningrad State Library Institute named after N. K. Krupskaya. From 1965 to 1974 she was in charge of science-and-methodological department of the Leningrad Oblast Universal Science Library (LOUSL), from 1974 to 1982 she was deputy director for research work, from 1982 to 2005 had the post of director. She was engaged in establishing the system of further training for the Leningrad Oblast library workers, and also initiated the organization of specialized seminars on topical issues in library work and research workshops for library workers of the Leningrad Oblast. She also started and was editor of publication of retrospective library indexes “Chto chitat’ o Leningradskoy olbasti” (What to Read about the Leningrad Oblast) (since 1967), “Chto chitat’ o rayone” (What to Read about the District) (since 1968). She was in charge of and did the organization and methodologic work for the integration of the Leningrad Oblast library into a centralized network. Her articles were published in specialized periodicals. A. A. Gurina was buried in Lakhtinskoe Cemetery in St Petersburg.
