The Volosovo District coat of arms and flag are the official approved symbols of the Municipal Union “Volosovskiy Munisipalnuy rayon” (Volosovo Municipal District) (they were approved with the decision of the Soviet of Deputies of the Municipal Union on 5th July 2006, No.61). The heraldic description of the coat of arms: “Within the green field there is the transparent oblique and the intersect rhombus. Inside the internal rhombus there are four bezants (The Roman gold coin, issued in the year 309 A.D. by the Emperor Constantine). In the upper right corner there is the head of the bull. In the upper left corner there is the spruce. Below the coat of arms there are three bezants(one and two) in the circle. On the left and right of the circle there are two ears. The ears laid arched and directed sideways and upwards. All figures are gold.” The head of bull and the ears are symbols of the stock-raising and the plant growing of region and this is the base of economy of the region. The rhombus( the element of the Old Russian ornament) and the three bezants in the circle (The sign of Nikolai Konstantinovich Rerikh to be placed on all monuments of culture) are symbols the rich culture of the region. The bull symbolizes the ancient Slavonic God Veles (Volos). The toponims Volosovo and Volosovskiy District descend from the name of God Volos. The flag is a rectangle sheet in the ratio of width to length 2:3. The flag renders the coat of arms composition in green and yellow colors. The coat of arms was registered in the State Heraldic Register of the Russian Federation under No.2473, and the flag was registered inder No.2474.
