Subject / Heraldry

The Vsevolozhsk District's coat of arms is the official approved symbol of the Municipal Union “Vsevolozhskiy Rayon” (The Vsevolozhsk District). It was approved with the decision of the Representative Assembly of the Vsevolozhsk District of 20 August 2001, No.67. Heraldic description of the coat of arms: ”Within traversed dark red and azure field there is a gold sail boat. Above the boat on the dark red field there is a silver arch that is broken off in the middle. The left part of the arch is lower than right one.” The golden boat on the blue field points to the location of the district on shores of Ladoga Lake and the Neva River which are the most ancient waterways. The silver arch on the red field resembles the shape of the monument “Razorvannoe koltso” (The Broken off Ring) and points to the role of the district during the Great Patriotic War when “Doroga Zhizni” (The Road of Life) passed through the territory of the district. The coat of arms was registered in the State Heraldic Register of the Russian Federation, No.985.
