The Kommunar Town's coat of arms and flag are the official approved symbols of the Municipal Union “Gorod Kommunar” (The Town of Kommunar) (the coat of arms was approved with the decision of the Head of Kommunar of 30 May 2002, No. 111, flag was approved with the decision of the Head of Kommunar of 5 September 2002, No. 566). The heraldic description of the coat of arms: “Within the dark red field which is framed with a wave silver stripe there are three silver stones (two stones and one)”. The flag is a red rectangle sheet in the ratio of width to length 2:3. The flag has a dark blue wave vertical stripe by the flagstaff. The stripe is separated from the main part of the colour cloth with the vertical thin white wave stripe. Within the red part of the colour cloth there are three white heraldic stones (two stones are above and the one is below at the center). The coat of arms was registered in the State Heraldic Register of the Russian Federation under the No. 971, and the flag was registered under the No. 1062.
