Orlino, a country estate (the village of Orlino, the Gatchina district).In the 1770s the court banker I.Yu. Frederiks became founded the estate which took the name from Orlinskoye Lake. It was located on the shore of the lake. In the 1820s the new owner I.V. Vasilchikov built the two-storied manor-house with balconies. Vegetable and fruit gardens were laid out nearby. An alley was laid from Orlino to the house. The waterlogged flood plain was drained with canal system and a landscape park was laid out. In 1863 the estate was given as the dowry to S.I. Vasilchikova who married to Count N.S. Stroganov. A school, hospital, carriage factory, tavern were built in the village with using his resources. In 1917 the estate was nationalized. At the present time only the old manor-house foundation is remained, a part of the alley led to the estate is intacted, the system of canals was destroyed.
