Seltso, a country estate

Seltso, a country estate (the settlement of Seltso, the Volosovo district). Since the middle of the 18th century the estate belonged to General K.E. Sivers, then to his daughter and granddaughter, since 1852 the estate belongrd to General N.I. Korf and his descendants. The estate was located on the plain between Narva Road in the north and lakes in the south. The oak alley led from the road to the manor house. A regular garden was laid in the south of the house, to the north of the house there was a landscape park, service constructions were located to the west of the house. From the middle of the 19th century till the beginning of the 20th century the park was replenished with new trees. New stone consrtuctions: a cattle-yard, stables, storehouses, ice-houses, a distillery, a smithy, a mill, a water tower were built on the place of old constructions. All service constructions are used by the sovkhoz at the present time. The fortified with cobblestone bank which confined to the park is intacted. In the park 100-150-year trees are preserved too. The water tower was ruined in March 2004.
