Israel (Ivan Andreyev; 1793, the village of Putilovo of the Shlisselburg uyezd - 1884, Konevets Island ), an archimandrite, clergy figure. Ivan Andreyev was born in the family of a sexton. From 1829 he was a monastic novice of the Valaam Monastery of the Savior - the Transfiguration of Christ; in 1834 he was professed as a monk in the Holy Trinity Hermitage of St. Sergius, became a hieromonk. Israel was a follower of St. Ignaty (Bryanchaninov). In 1839 he was appointed the builder of the Vvedeno - Ostrovsky Monastery where he constructed stone cells, utility buildings, hotel, bell tower. Israel won the permission to install the reliquary above the relics of Alexander Svirsky's parents. In 1859 Israel was appointed the superior of the Konevets Monastery of the Nativity of the Virgin Mary. He headed building of the many constructions in the monastery, the cathedral was enlarged under him. He restored the city residence of the monastery in St. Petersburg after the fire of 1862. During the famine caused by the bad harvest in Finland (1867-1868) Israel ordered to give food to Finns. In April 1868 Israel was conferred the dignity of an archimandrite. He died in the Konevets monastery; The headstone at the cathedral altar is survived partly.
