The Church of St. George the Victorius, Great Martyr (the village of Yuksovichi, the Podporozhsky District).The wooden log structure church in the Yuksovsky pogost (first mention was dated by 1137), it was built (according to other information it was built in 1543) on the high bank of Yuksovsky Lake in 1493. It was rebuilt and reconsecrated in 1632, in 1887 the church was added by the new refectory from three sides. Tne church is the monument of the Russian North Wooden Architecture. The construction of the church is the column logframe with the pointed roof having the two slopes and one small dome, two lower logframes (altar and refectory) also has the pointed roofs . The church was closed in 1937, it did not act from 1941 to 1944 in the period of the Finnish occupation during WWII; Finns took icons when they retreated but the old iconostasis was survived. The boards roofing was replaced during the repair -restoration works in 1970 and the porch with two cereminial sraitcases, damaged during WWII, was restored. In 1993 the community was organized and the religious services are performed during the church festivals.
