"Lisinsky", a reserve

The "Lisinsky" reserve is a state natural complex reserve. It is located in the territory of the Tosno District and its area is 28,4 thousand hectares. The forestry was founded in the late 18 century. The study with the pupils of the Tsarskoe Selo forest institute was started in 1805. The Hunter college was founded in 1834 and the village Lisino-Korpus (Lisinskiy cottage) become the education base. The life and work many of the well-known forestry specialists, soil scientists and biologists was connected with the reserve. The modern reserve was founded with the decision of the Leningrad Executive Committee of 27 March 1976 under No 145, and government regulation of the Leningrad Oblast of 26 December 1996 under No 494 and of 15October 2001 under No 98. Reserve is governed by the Lisinskiy educational and experimental forestry of the Saint-Petersburg Forestry Engineering Academy. The purpose of the reserve is the preservation of the forest tract of the oldest experimental base of the Saint-Petersburg Forestry Engineering Academy and the preservation of the primeval fir forest and the sylvula.
