Tynni, Kaapre (Gabriel) (1877, Nizhnyaya Zagvozdka/ Ala-sakoska of the Tsarskoye Selo Utezd, the St. Petersburg Gubernia - 1953), an enlightener, public figure. In 1899 Tynni graduated from Kolpani Teacher-Küster Seminary. He worked as a village teacher, in 1905 he taught Russian, History and Geography at the German orphan's home in St. Petersburg. During 1906 - 1912 Tynni worked at the St. Petersburg Finnish Secindary School. He was the editor of the Social Democrat orientation newspaper "Uusi Inkeri" ("The New Inkeri". 1905-1906), "The Neva" (from 1907). In 1917 Tynni graduated from the Helsingfors University as a Master of Philosophy. In 1917 Tynni, a socialist according to his political convictions, was close to Mensheviks. He came out for giving Finnish-speaking population of Ingermanlandia the culture autonomy. Tynni was a delegate of Ingermanlandia Finns congresses held in Petrograd in April (he was elected as the Head of the Central Ingermanlandia Committee), in September of 1917 and Mach of 1918 (he was elected the Head of the Ingermanlandia National Soviet). During 1917-1919 Tynni was the Principal of Kolpani Teacher-Küster Seminary. In 1919 he emigrated to Finland. Tynni took active part in the organizations of Ingermanlandia emigrants. In 1929 Tynni compiled and published the collection "Desyat rokovykh let borbi za svobodu Ingermanlandii" ("Ten Fatal Years of the Struggle for The Freedom of Ingermanlandia"). Kaapre Tynni's daughter Aale Tynni became a famous Finnish poetess and translator.
