KISELNYA, a village in Volkhov District. Population: 1764. The name may be related to the Yelena River beginning in the environs of the village. K. is located at the point of crossing of several motor roads of local importance and the St. Petersburg-Novaya Ladoga highway. The village has wooden residential houses as well as comfortable urban-type buildings. K. has a culture house and library; the local history museum exists on the basis of the local school.
