VYBORG TOWN CHILDREN’S MUSICAL SCHOOL №1 (2a, Lenin av., Vyborg Town). It was founded in 1949, sponsor is Municipal Institution “Vyborgsky Raion” (“Vyborg District”) administration. The main specializations are: the violin, viola, cello, button accordion, accordion, guitar, piano, flute, clarinet, trumpet. The school has three choirs; chamber orchestra; violin and guitar ensembles, popular ensemble of classical music “Tutti”. The school houses a paid preparatory department for children under 5. It holds an open contest for young violinists and pianists from the Leningrad Oblast. The school takes an active part in contests and competitions including a contest “Vyborgskaya Vesna” (“Vyborg Town Spring”). The school students give concerts and take part in the town activities.
