"North Pattern", the Song and Dancing Ensemble

“SEVERNYE UZORY” (“NORTHERN PATTERNS”), folk song and dance company (1, Uritsky av., Lodeynoye Pole Town). It was founded in 1970. From 1980 a creative director is Y.P. Zakharov. The repertoire of the company includes Russian folk songs, round dances (“Vesenniye Karusely” (“Spring Merry-Go-Rounds”), “Zmeika”(“Snake”), “Utro”(“Morning”), “Severnaya Fantaziya” (“Northern Fantasy”)), singing and dancing performances (“Chtoi-to Zvon” (“Bells are Ringing”), “Poday Balalaiku” (“Give Me a Balalaika ”)). The company is a prize-winner of different festivals and contests: All-Soviet Union and All-Russia folk festivals, the Leningrad Oblast festival dedicated to 100th birthday of Lidiya Ruslanova (2001). The company took part in folk festivals held in Germany, Finland, Norway, USA and Turkey.
