The Tervenichi Convent of the Intercession of the Virgin Mary (the Lodeynoye Pole district, the village of Tervenichi, 30 Nagornaya Street). It was founded in 1997 on the place of a grave-yard (it was firstly mentioned in 1137) which was named Mikhaylovsky -according to the church in the name if the St. Archangel Michael - in the 16th century (1574). At the turn of the 18th-19th centures the church of the Intercession of the Virgin Mary and the church of the Dormition of the Mother of God were constructed, in 1861 the new stone church of the Dormition of the Mother of God was built in the Late Classicism Style for donations. The church of the Dormition of the Mother of God was closed in 1935; a community centre was opened in it, later warehouses of grain and fertilizers were placed there; other buildings of the churchyard and the cemetery were destroyed. The restoration work of the Dormition church was begun in summer of 1991, in 1994 the were reconsecrated in honour of the Intercession of the Virgin Mary. A copy of the Kasperovsky-Korsunsky Icon of the Mother of God ""Tenderness"" (Tervenichesky), which is being in Odessa, is among objects of worship. Two stone chapels were constructed in 1997, one of them was built abobe the respected source (well); in 2001 the chapel in the name of the Resurrection of Christ was built in the cemetery. The monastery economy includes 45 hectares of land, sewing and art workshops. The life of the monastery is provided by the sisters of the St. Petersburg church in the name of Sts. Sophia and her Three Daughters, Faith, Hope and Charity (since 1997 it has been the city residece of the convent).
