Pushkin, Aleksandr Sergeyevich (1799-1837), a poet, prosaist, playwright, journalist, historian. Representatives of the Pushkins family Novgorodian branch lived in the Vod lands from the end of the 15th century till the beginning of the 17th century. The Golovins and the Gannibals, the Pushkins' ancestors from two women's line, settled in Ingermanlandia after the North War. A.P Gannibal, Pushkin's great-grandfather, owned villages of Suida (Voskresenskoye), Kobrino, Pizhma, Melnitsa, Kuznetsovo, Elitsi. A.P Gannibal died in Suida village and was buried at the local cemetery (see the article "Suida, an estate - museum"). After A.P. Gannibal the village of Kobrino was belonged to O.A. Gannibal, Pushkin's grandfather. From 1781 Kobrino was belonged to Nadezhda Osipovna Gannibal, Pushkin's mother. The poet's parents S.L. Pushkin and N.O. Gannibal got married in the church of Voskresenskoye village. In 1780-1790s Pushkin's future nanny A.R. Yakovleva lived in Kobrino village. In 1797 she was taken as the wet nurse into the Pushkins' home (see the article "The House of A.S. Pushkin's nurse"). About 1800 the Pushkins sold Kobrino village to Sh.K. Zhandr. A.S. Pushkin stayed at Post Stations of the capital gubernia along Moscow Road (Yam-Izhora, Tosno, Lyuban and others) and along Belorussia Road (Gatchina, Vyra, Luga and others) many times. Pushkin's way notes and his epoch travelling way of life are described in the story "Stantsionny smotritel" ("The Station Master") ("see the article "The house of the station master", a museum). In 1827-1828 Pushkin visited the Olenins' estate of Priyutino. He asked in marriage to Anna Alekseyevna Olenina, the youngest daughter of A.N. Olenin, but he was refused by her parents. Pushkin's series of lyric poems of 1828: "Eye glaza" ("Her Eyes"), "Uvi! Yazik lyubvi boltlivy" ("Alas! The Blabbing Tongue of Love"), "Ti I vi" ("You and You"), "Ne poy, krasavitsa, pri mne" (Don't Sing, the Pretty, for Me"), "Predchustviye" ("The Premonition") and others are related with A.A. Olenina. Pushkin inserted the poem "Ya vas lyubil: lyubov eshche byt mozhet" ("I Loved You: the Love Still Was Likely") into A.A. Olenina's dairy. From 1986 festivals devoted to A.S. Pushkin are held every year in the Gatchina District.
