Karl Ivanovich Brandt (1810–1882), an architect. He was graduated from the St. Petersburg Academy of Arts (1833). From 1853 to 1860 he was an architect of St. Petersburg eparchy. He designed buildings on Valaam, in the Holy Trinity-St. Sergius Hermitage. In St. Petersburg K.I. Brandt designed and built profitable houses, mansions, town residences of monasteries, the Church of St. Demetrius of Thessalonica in the Bolsheokhtinskoye Edinoverie cemetery (1846-1853, it was not intacted). According to Brandt's projects: the Church of the Dormition of the Holy Mother of God was built in the village Bolshaya Vruda in 1840, jointly with the architect O.V. Bremer; the Church of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker was built jointly with the military engineer K.Ye. Yegorov in the village of Ilyeshi in 1855-64; the Church of the Dormition of the Holy Mother of God was built in the village of Teryobushka in 1854-55 (it was enlarged in 1868); the Church of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker was built in the village of Yastrebino jointly with O.V.
