Sergey Vasilyevich Sadovnikov (1835 - 1906), an architect, academician of architecture (1881). Sergey Vasilyevich Sadovnikov was a son of the artist V.S. Sadovnikov (1800-1879). S.V. Sadovnikov graduated from the St. Petersburg Academy of Arts in 1859. He was an architect of the Synod, participated in enlarging the town residence of the Holy Trinity -St. Sergius Lavra (1870-1872), decorating the lower temple of the Nativity of Our Lord at the Church of the Archangel Michael (the 1880s, it was not intacted) in St. Petersburg. Sergey Vasilyevich Sadovnikov built and restored churches and other building in Staraya Ladoga Village. The Church of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker was built according to S.V. Sadovnikov's project in the cemetery in Yam-Izhora Village (1881-1887, it was not intacted). According to Sadovnikov's projects the wooden Church of St. Mary Magdalene (1884) and two cell blocks and several service constructions were built in the Vokhonovsky Convent of St. Mary (it was located near present Yelizavetino Village of Gatchina district; it was not intacted). Sergey Vasilyevich Sadovnikov built many constructions in the Pyatigorsk Convent of the Mother of God including: the wooden Church of the Tikhvin Icon of the Mother of God (1894-1899), the wooden Church of the Icon of the Mother of God "The Healer of Sorrows" (1894-1895), the wooden two-story school for girls (1901), a hotel and water-tower (1902), a hospital building (1906) with the stone one-altar Church of St. Pantaleon, the Great Mortyr. Sergey Vasilyevich Sadovnikov was buried in the Mitrofanyevskoyee cemetery (the grave was not intacted). Margolis, Aleksandr Davidovich
