Natural monuments

The natural monument is the category of the specially protected natural areas and in the international classification they have status of the natural monument. They are a small area, which include important natural objects (terrain feature, groves of rare trees, lakes, caves, waterfalls, etc.). In the Leningrad Oblast first 19 objects have received the status of natural monuments under the decision of the Leningrad Executive Committee under No 145 on 29 March 1976 "About creation the reserves and recognizing nature monuments the valuable natural areas in the Leningrad region". At present time there are 25 Natural monument in the Leningrad Oblast.
1) Lake Babinskoye with adjacent upland on the marsh "Falcon's moss" (the complex Natural Monument, the Kirishi District, the area is 700 hectares);
2) the Marsh territory "Smooth moss" and river valley Sharjah (the complex Natural Monument, the Kirishi District, the area is 9600 hectares);
3) The geological outcrops of Devonian and Ordovician rocks in the River Saba (geological monument of nature, Luga district, the area is 650 hectares);
4) Geological outcrops of Devonian rocks on the river Oredezh and near the village of Yam-Tesovo (geological monument of nature, Luga district, the area is 225 hectares);
5) Geological outcrops of Devonian rocks and adits on the river Oredezh near the village Borschovo (geological monument of nature, Luga district, the area is 270 hectares);
6) The gont marsh (the complex natural monument, the Vsevolozhsk district, the area is 1508 hectares);
7) The source of the Oredezh River in the Dontsovo terrain feature (the complex natural monument, the Volosovo district, the area is 950 hectares);
8) The Canyon of the Lava River (the complex natural monument, the Kirovsk district, the area is 160 hectares);
9)Kokorevsky (the complex natural monument, the Vsevolozhsk district, the area is 1462 hectares);
10) Lazorevskoe marsh (the complex natural monument, the Vsevolozhsk district, the area is 1968 hectares);
11) The lowland marsh to the west from Bereznyak Village (the complex natural monument, the Kirishi district, the area is 56 hectares);
12) The Devonian outcrop near the Oredezh River near Belogorka Settlement (the geological natural monument, the Gatchina district, the area is 120 hectares);
13) Lake Kazyan (the complex natural monument, the Kirishi district, 150 hectares);
14) Lake Krasnoe (the geological and hydrological natural monument, the Priozersk district, the area is 1650 hectares, including 750 hectares of the area of water);
15) Lake Yastrebinoe (the complex natural monument, the Priozersk district, the area is 629,5 hectares);
16) Gustoy island (the geological natural monument, the Vyborg district, the area is 54 hectares);
17) Lake Pozhupinskoe with adjoining waterless valleys (the complex natural monument, the Kirishi district, the area is 750 hectares);
18) Pugarevsky (the geological natural monument, the Vsevolozgsk district, the area is 2 hectares);
19) Radonovye springs and lakes in the Lopukhinks Settkement (the geological and hydrological natural monument, the Lomonosov district, the area is 270 hectares);
20) The Ragusha River (the complex natural monument, the Boksitogorsk district, the area is 1034 hectares);
21) Sablinskiy (the complex natural monument, the Tosno district, the area is 220 hectares);
22) The pine forests near the Bodogosch Settlement (the complex natural monument, the Kirishi district, the area is 12,7 hectares);
23) Staroladozhsky (the complex natural monument, the Volhov district, the area is 220 hectares);
24) The Suhodolnye Islands on the Lisiy Moh marsh terrain (the complex natural monument, the Kirishi district, the area is 550 hectares);
