STRELNIKOV, Aleksey Vladimirovich (1942–2005), director, artist. In 1966 he graduated from the Leningrad Institute of Theatre, Music and Cinema (teacher N.P. Akimov). He worked as a teacher at Arts College (Odessa City), Institute of Culture (Leningrad). Strelnikov put on several drama and opera performances, mass shows, festivals, performances in the open air in Russia and abroad. He was a director and an artist of the oblast Veps holidays “Derevo Zfizny” (“Tree of Life”) (1988, 1991-92), festivities “Solntsevorot. Tikhvinskoye Leto-89” (“Solstice. Tikhvin Town Summer-89”). He was a script writer and a director of performance “Zhitie Aleksandra Nevskogo” (“Alexander Nevsky’s Life”) (Staraya Ladoga Fortress, 1990), International children’s folk festival “Runa Baltiky” (“Rune of the Baltic”) (Vyborg Town, 1993). In 1991 Strelnikov in cooperation with Y.Y. Vasilyeva founded in St. Petersburg “Vertepny Teatr” (“Nativity Show Theatre”), where he put on the plays “Rozhdestvenskaya Drama” (“Christmas Drama”), “Artakserksovo Deistvo” (“Artaxerx’s Deed”), “Aniuta”, etc. The theatre took part in three Moscow festivals (2000-03), its performances took place in Priorate’s Palace, in the Church of All Saints (“Polkovaya” (“Regimental Church”)) in Tikhvin Town, etc.
