Nikolay Nikitich Nikonov (1849 - 1918), an architect,expert of the "russian style". From the 1860s Nikonov learned at the Academy of Arts in St. Petersburg. During 1893-1906 Nikonov was the architect of the St. Petersburg Eparchy. He was the author of many religious and dwelling buildings. The more significant buildings in St.Petersburg: the tenement block of N.P. basin in Ostrovsky Square (1878-1879), the Curch of the Intercession of the Mother of God and "Brothes' House" in Borovaya Street (1890-1897; 1899-1901), the Convent of St. John in the River Karpovka Embankment (1900-1903, 1907-1911), the Church of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God in Terioki (1909-1915; 547, Promorskoye Road). N.N. Nikonov built churches, chapels, monasteries in Moscow, Revel, Poltava, New Afon, on Valaam Island. In St. Petersburg Nikonov built: the Church of the Intercession of the Mother of God in Khotnezha Village ( Volosovo District), the Church of the Nativity of the Mother of God in Penino Village (1893-1900), the Church of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker in Lavrovo Village (1898-1902, it was not intacted), the Church of the Resurrection in Toroshkovichi Village, the Church of Sainted Hierach Nicholas the Wonderworker in Kotli Village and others. He built towers, southern gate, cell and household blocks in the Saraya Ladoga Monastery of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker (1907-1908). Kruzhnov, Yuri Nikolayevich
