The Lodeynoye Pole Museum of the Local History (Lodeynoye Pole Town, 122 Lenin Street), a branch of "The Museum Agency". The museum was founded as a people's museum of the local history in 1961 and got the status of the state enterprise of culture. The museum exposition, displayed in seven halls, showed the region nature and history including the development of the Russian Fleet and hydro-power engineering, ethnographic peculiarities of the population of the Svir River region, the Oyat River region, local artistic homecrafts. Items of city dweller and peasant everyday life of the Lodeynoye Pole uyezd of the late 19th - the early 20th century are the particular interest. Centre organizing public lectures and local history clubs are worked at the museum. There are 29 thousand exhibits in the museum funds including materials concerning the life and work of the artist S.N. Zenkov, and his several works. About 3.2 thousand people per year visit the museum. From 1968 the museum is placed in the building which looks like a ship with its shape (it was built in 1944 by architect B.V. Vorontsov and K.N. Kalayda). That building was built as a part of the memorial complex "Svirskaya pobeda" ("The Victory at the Svir River").
