"The Museum Agency", a State Culture institution

"The Museum Agency", an oblast state culture institution (St. Petersburg, Smolny, the 3d entrance), the coordinating centre of the Leningrad Oblast museums. It was established on the former oblast museum centre basis in 1999. The agency united 27 branches (museums), located in towns and villages of the Leningrad Oblast, as well as the exhibition hall "Smolny" in St. Petersburg. "The Museum Agency" is a non-profit organization for expansion, keeping, studing, exhibiting and publishing the museum collections concentrated in museums within the jurisdiction of it. The priority directions of the "The Museum Agency" work are: organizing the centralized accounting of funds, the assistance for publishing activities of oblast museums, the introduction of new forms of the museum work, obtaining off-budget funds. The exhibition hall of "The Museum Agency" is the oblast culture centre in St. Petersburg. Children and youth festivals of arts, concerts of the oblast music groups, seminars of culture workers, solemn awards ceremonies of different competitions winners are held there together with exhibitions.
