Rozhdestveno, a country estate (the village of Rozhdestveno, the Gatchina district). In the early 18th century the estate belonged to tsarevitch Aleksey Petrovich. The village's name appeared in 1713 after building the Church of the of the Nativity of the Mother of God. In 1797 Paul I presented the estate to General N. Ye. Yefremov. In 1825 the new manor-house was built on the place of the old palace. It was a two-storied wooden building with the belvedere on the stone socle. The building was decorated with overhanging four column porticos from three sides and the front elevation was decorated with the many-flight staircase. A regular park was laid out in front of the manor-house. In 1890 the estate was bought by the owner of gold-mines I.V. Rukavishnikov. Under him the estate manor-house was rebuilt, many service building were built and a tennis-court was made in the park. In 1916, accotding to the last owner will, the estate was passed to V.V. Nabokov. After the nationalization in 1924 the art works collection, books, furniture and othres were taken out the estate (partly - into the Gatchina Palace Museum). In 1973 the village museum of the local history was created in the estate. In 1987 the memorial estate of V.V. Nabokov "Rozhdestveno" was created on the base of the being museun. In 1995 former manor -house was damaged during a fire, at the present time it is restored.
